Authorizations

Also called a pre-auth or prior auth, an authorization is documentation from the payer that they agreed to pay for a patient’s specific treatment for a specific number of visits.

How to Create an new Authorization

To create an authorization, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Case Screen:

    • If you're not already on the Case Screen, locate and select the appropriate case.

  2. Add Authorization:

    • Click Add Authorization.

    • Confirm the patient’s name and case details.

  3. Enter Details:

    • Add the payer name, authorization number, supervising provider, and relevant dates.

    • Input the diagnosis and CPT codes.

  4. Associate a Referral:

    • Check if a referral is required and link it to the case.

  5. Save the Authorization:

    • Review and click Save.
