Plan of Care Changes

Enhancements to plan of care and recertification.

Updated over 10 months ago

PatientStudio's Plan of Care (POC) management is evolving, incorporating valuable customer feedback to improve efficiency and clarity.

Updates & Improvements

Automatic Treatment Period

  • When recertifying the POC, the treatment validity period now updates automatically based on the selected treatment duration in the POC.

Planned Treatments

  • The Planned Treatments section represents all treatments intended for the patient under this POC.

  • This section has been renamed for improved clarity.

Updating Goal Progress

  • Goal progress can now be updated within daily notes and progress notes, making tracking more seamless and intuitive.

Editing vs. Recertifying a POC

Editing a POC

  • Modifies the existing plan for the current treatment period without creating a new POC.

  • Does not affect the certification status or create a new certification requirement.

  • Automatically updates all related claims to reflect the changes.

    • Example: Updating diagnosis (DX) codes in the POC will update all claims within the treatment period.

Recertifying a POC

  • Creates a new plan with an updated treatment period, goals, and other treatment details.

  • If a payer requires certification (e.g., Medicare), the certification status of the new POC will default to "Needs Signature."
