How Patients Pay Balances Online via the Patient Portal

Learn how to give patients access to the portal, send account statements, and provide a simple, secure way to pay bills online.

Accessing the Patient Portal

To view and share your practice’s patient portal:

  1. Go to Admin Setup > Branding.

  2. Use the Patient Portal link to:

    • Preview the portal experience.

    • Embed the link on your website.

    • Share it via email or text messages for easy patient access.


Sending Patient Statements

  1. Navigate to the patient’s profile and click the Financials tab.

  2. Select More Actions > Account Statement.

  3. Customize the statement by:

    • Setting a due date or choosing “Due Upon Receipt.”

    • Including pending charges, if applicable.

    • Excluding $0 balance dates of service.

  4. Choose to:

    • Print the statement.

    • Email the statement directly to the patient.

      • Add a subject line.

      • Paste the payment link.

      • Send the message.


Patient Experience

After logging into the patient portal, patients can view:

  • Upcoming appointments

  • Pending paperwork

  • Account balance

They can pay their bill by:

  • Adding a credit or debit card on file

  • Paying the full balance or making a partial payment
