When a patient payment is over-collected or over-applied to a specific claim, it will appear as a negative balance on that claim.
This usually means there’s extra money that needs to be moved to another claim or visit for the same patient.
Step 1. Click on Transfer credit
Click on Claim Actions and select Transfer credit
Step 2. Review & Confirm
Review and confirm that you are transferring the amount to patient credit
Not Able to Transfer?
You can only transfer credits that are caused by patient payments, meaning money that was collected from a patient.
For example: If you collected $0 from the patient but there’s a negative patient balance, this is not a credit. The negative balance comes from manual transactions and it needs to be corrected manually.
